Evaluation Q3

This is a presentation of various kinds of institutions that would hypothetically distribute our media. These include big names and smaller 'indie' companies (to reach the niche audiences). More information is in the taking points.

Evaluation Q4

This is a stop frame animation of our target audience and their qualities. This is a stereotype and does not fit all of the social groups we represent and address/attract in our opening. Each point is explained further in the talking points.

Evaluation Q7

This is a video of our reaction to our Preliminary Task. We discuss what went well and what was not as effective and also how we have improved in our general filming techniques.

All The Sounds We Used

This is a collection of all the sounds we used in our opening. all are copyright free or have been created by me.

Final Title Explained

Due to the change in genres we thought it would be appropriate to further develop the narrative by giving the audience more hints at the tone of the rest of the film. Moreover we changed the name of our opening as before when it was 'before your very eyes' this linked with the narrative because the main character had her eyes closed throughout, and opened them at the end to reveal that her eyes were all white. However on changing the narrative we then changed the name to 'Sheeple' which is a word that refers to people being compared to being a sheep and following others easily. We thought this was appropriate as it is different and can hint to the genre. Moreover by writing it in ketchup we felt that it would be comical and ironic as it is meant to look like fake blood but obviously isn't, which almost creates a sense of taking the mickey of the previous fake blood shots. By doing this it creates a messy affect which is what we wanted as it represents more of what the rest of the film would be like. Finally by adding in the duck creating mess and landing in the writing it links back to the bathroom theme and the annoying child who creates disruption.

Eyes Edit

This is the editing we did to the eyes to create a thriller/horror effect and to surprise the audience. it is the moment of climax in our opening.

Evaluation Q5

We attracted and addressed our audience mainly through the use of the varying age ranges, which appeals to a much larger audience. Another key factor of attracting our audience is the use of 2 genres, as this is rare it is more likely to be interesting to audiences and also gathers both types of audience from comedy and thriller/horror. We address the audience through the stereotypes of the teenager, most of whom can relate to and the child/sibling which is very common in families and therefore easier for the audience to relate to. the situation displayed also addresses our audience because it is common for teens to be interrupted by something annoying such as a needy younger sibling.

Evaluation Q1

Our media product uses, develops and challenges the conventions of its genre. One of the main things  about our final product that really challenges and develops the genre is the use of 2 kinds of genre that are normally polar opposites, this is done through exploiting the conventions of thriller in an extensive and almost comedic manner to then conforming to the comedic conventions.

Evaluation Q2

In this evaluation question we discuss the social groups that our opening would represent through the use of our 2 characters. these characters show varying social groups because of their varying ages. they also represent primary (such as family as it is a family comedy) and secondary (friends of friends because it is something that can be shared as a comedy experience).
